Track your share of AI voice against competitors
Share of voice used to be measured in ad impressions or ranking positions. In assistant answers the equivalent is how often you are named compared with the other businesses in your category. A single number per assistant, trended monthly, tells you whether your AI visibility is growing or being taken.
What is share of AI voice and how is it calculated?
Share of AI voice is the percentage of assistant answers, across a fixed set of category prompts, in which your business is named, compared with each competitor. Each prompt is sampled several times per assistant each month, mentions are counted and the share is calculated per assistant. Because answers vary between runs, the sampled share is more reliable than a single check. It is reported alongside citation share, which counts links to your pages rather than name mentions.

Questions UAE business owners ask
Answered in the first sentence, so AI assistants can quote us directly.
It depends on the category and the prompt. For a brand-name prompt, anything below near-total share signals a problem. For a broad category prompt such as best clinic in Dubai, being named in a quarter of answers can be leading if the category is fragmented. We benchmark against the competitor set rather than a universal target, and we do not invent industry averages.
Each assistant retrieves from different sources: ChatGPT and Copilot from Bing, Gemini from Google, Perplexity from its index. A business strong in Google but absent from Bing shows a high Gemini share and a low ChatGPT share, and the gap points to the fix. One anonymised interior design and fit-out client recorded 151 ChatGPT citations, 40 Copilot mentions, 23 in Perplexity, 12 in Gemini and 4 in AI Overviews.
Not yet. Google organic and local rankings still drive most enquiries for UAE businesses, and AI Overviews and Gemini depend on them. Share of AI voice sits alongside rank tracking as a second scoreboard. We report both in one place so you can see whether a change helped one, both or neither.

The Google data behind the claims
Google Search Console performance panels from client accounts — Google's own screen, not a report we wrote. Organic search only, cropped so no brand or domain is identifiable, each labelled with the exact window it covers.
