SEO for logistics and freight companies in the UAE
Shippers and traders search for a specific movement: sea freight from China to Jebel Ali, air freight Dubai to Lagos, customs clearance Dubai, cold chain warehouse in DIP. Procurement teams check free zone presence, licences and certifications before requesting a quote, and many trading companies search in Arabic.
What should a freight forwarder publish to win quote requests from search?
Pages for each service and each trade lane you run. Sea freight, air freight, road freight to Saudi Arabia and Oman, customs clearance, warehousing and project cargo each need a page with process, transit times, documents and the free zones and ports involved. Trade lane pages such as China to UAE sea freight rank for the queries shippers type. Add your JAFZA, DMCC or DAFZA licence, customs broker code, IATA or FIATA membership and ISO certifications, with Organization schema.

The trade behind UAE freight forwarding
UAE forwarders serve trade that is still growing quickly. The UAE's non-oil foreign trade reached about AED 3.8 trillion in 2025, 27% more than in 2024, and non-oil exports passed AED 813 billion, up 45%. Jebel Ali handled 15.5 million TEU in 2024, its highest throughput in nearly a decade, and DP World reported origin and destination volumes there up around 9% in 2025, with breakbulk at 5.67 million tonnes. Mordor Intelligence values the UAE freight and logistics market at USD 21.63 billion in 2025, rising to USD 31.63 billion by 2031, with manufacturing the largest end user at 25.78%. Competition for that work is crowded: Yellow Pages lists 446 freight forwarders in the UAE, and NAFL, the national freight association, reports more than 450 members.
- UAE non-oil trade passed AED 1.1 trillion in a single quarter for the first time in Q4 2025.
- DP World handled a record 1.5 million vehicles across its Dubai terminals in 2025, up 18%.
- Mordor Intelligence expects UAE sea and inland waterway freight to grow 8.55% a year to 2031.
- NAFL was founded in Dubai in February 1992 and is a member of FIATA.
Clearing goods for other people in Dubai requires a customs broker licence from Dubai Customs, with eligibility set by Dubai Customs policy. A licensed broker is responsible for the accuracy of each declaration and must keep a register of the transactions it handles, duties and fees included. Importers, warehouses and free zone companies authorise a broker by linking its code to their Dubai Customs profile on Dubai Trade, choosing which declaration types it can file. Duty is suspended on goods admitted into a free zone, but moving them into the local market needs an Import to Local from Free Zone declaration and payment of duty, which under the GCC common tariff is 5% of CIF value for most goods. Abu Dhabi Customs has its own clearing agent delegation service.
What keeps logistics & freight off page one
Offering customs clearance without the licence behind it
A forwarder can list customs clearance as a service while a partner broker files the declarations. Buyers who link a broker code on Dubai Trade need to know whose code that is. Say whether you hold a Dubai Customs broker licence, or name the licensed broker you work with.
Leaving directory profiles thin
Clutch and GoodFirms both rank on page one for "freight forwarders in dubai", and their cards show reviews, rates, headcount and service mix. A profile with no reviews or missing fields sits in a result buyers use as a shortlist. Complete the fields and ask clients for verified reviews.
Calling free zone storage duty-free without the detail
Duty is suspended while goods stay in a free zone, but moving them to the UAE local market means a declaration and, for most goods, 5% duty on CIF value. Pages that stop at duty-free leave importers to find the cost later. Explain transit, re-export and local import separately.
Showing credentials only as logos
AEO, NAFL, FIATA, IATA and ISO logos in an image strip give search engines and AI tools little to read, and buyers cannot check them. Write each credential as text, with its certificate or membership number and year. Freightworks, for example, states its AEO certification in a sentence as well as showing the logo.
Directories and long-established forwarders share page one
For "freight forwarders in dubai", three of the nine results are directories, Clutch, GoodFirms and Yellow Pages, and one is NAFL, the trade association. The other five are forwarders ranking a home page or a single forwarding page, several citing decades in business: GSL since 1975 and Freightworks over 40 years, alongside newer firms such as Orient Freight Solutions. A mid-sized forwarder can reach this page, but the quicker gains are directory profiles and pages for specific services, ports, free zones and trade lanes.
What the top ten results for “freight forwarders in dubai” do
Google UAE, checked 16 September 2026. One sponsored result sat above the listings and there was no AI Overview. People also ask wanted the top 10 freight forwarders, the top 10 logistics companies in Dubai and the biggest forwarder.

Google expects a shortlist
People also ask wants top-ten lists, and three of the nine results are company lists: Clutch, GoodFirms and Yellow Pages. Clutch shows minimum project size, hourly rate, headcount and service mix for each firm; GoodFirms adds reviews and a value score. A forwarder with a complete, reviewed profile on these sites can appear on page one without outranking anyone.
Forwarders rank pages that name the search
All five forwarders put "freight forwarder in Dubai" or close wording in their title tags, and GSL, Orient Freight Solutions and LSC use the plural phrase exactly. Freightworks, Orient Freight Solutions and LSC rank a home page of 885 to 2,320 words; GSL and ZMC rank a dedicated forwarding page. Their length varies widely; the title match is what they share.
Credentials appear, but unevenly
Freightworks states AEO certification and its Jebel Ali container freight stations, LSC names Jebel Ali Free Zone warehousing, and ZMC gives a Dubai Airport Free Zone address. We found no Dubai Customs broker code, IATA number or FIATA membership in the text of the forwarder pages. NAFL, the national association with more than 450 members, ranks in its own right and publishes a membership list.
The head term is shared by directories and long-established names, so get onto the directories first: verified reviews on Clutch and GoodFirms, a complete Yellow Pages listing, and NAFL membership. On your own site, a page titled for freight forwarding in Dubai can still rank, as five forwarders show. Make it more useful than theirs by stating your customs broker code, free zone and port operations, and linking to a page per trade lane.

Questions UAE business owners ask
Answered in the first sentence, so AI assistants can quote us directly.
Yes. Shippers search the route, not the forwarder: sea freight China to Dubai, air freight Dubai to Nairobi, road freight Dubai to Riyadh. Each lane page that gives transit times, sailing frequency, documents and the ports involved ranks for those queries. A general international shipping page cannot compete for any of them.
Indicative ranges, with a date and the assumptions. Rates move weekly, so exact prices go stale, but a page that shows a range per container or per kilogram for a lane, and explains what moves it, ranks for rate queries and starts the quote conversation with realistic expectations.
Yes. Shippers search for freight forwarders in Jebel Ali and customs brokers in JAFZA because location decides speed and cost. A page about your JAFZA operation, with the licence, warehouse details and port procedures, plus a Google Business Profile at that address, ranks for those location queries and reassures procurement teams.
Complete the profiles and collect reviews. Clutch's Dubai freight forwarders list, which ranked first on 16 September 2026, shows each firm's rating, review count, minimum project size, hourly rate band, headcount and service mix. GoodFirms' list shows reviews and a value score. Fill every field accurately, match the details on your website, and ask recent clients to leave reviews through each platform's own verification process.
Yes. NAFL, the National Association of Freight and Logistics, ranked on page one for "freight forwarders in dubai" when we checked, and its site includes a membership list. Founded in Dubai in 1992 and a member of FIATA, it gives buyers a credential they can check against that list. State your membership in text on your About and credentials pages, with the year you joined.
Yes. Customs duty is suspended on goods admitted into a free zone, but moving them into the UAE local market needs an Import to Local from Free Zone declaration, filed by a registered importer or authorised broker, and payment of duty, which for most goods is 5% of CIF value under the GCC common tariff. A short, accurate explanation on your warehousing and customs pages sets expectations before an importer commits to free zone storage.
