SEO for financial advisers and insurers in Dubai

Expats and residents in the UAE search for advice at life events: a new job, a child, a property purchase, retirement planning. They search in English and Arabic, they check whether an adviser is licensed by the CMA, DFSA or the Central Bank, and they read provider reviews before enquiring.

Direct answer

Can a financial adviser in Dubai rank without breaching CMA or DFSA rules?

Yes, with care. Promises of returns and unapproved product promotions are restricted, and in DIFC any communication that invites someone to use a financial service counts as a financial promotion, so pages should inform rather than solicit. Pages that explain legacy planning, wills for non-Muslims, end-of-service gratuity, term life cover or education savings, written without product recommendations, rank well and comply. Provider review pages comparing insurers and platforms on their published terms, with no advice attached, rank strongly. Licence numbers, the regulator, and the regulated entity name should appear on every page with Organization and FinancialService schema.

The market

Wealth, insurance and the regulators behind them

Advice in the UAE is supervised by different regulators depending on where a firm is licensed and what it sells. Onshore, the Capital Market Authority, which replaced the Securities and Commodities Authority on 1 January 2026, covers investment advisers and promoters, while the Central Bank supervises banks, insurers and insurance brokers. In DIFC, the DFSA regulated 1,050 entities at the end of 2025 after licensing 182 new firms, and the centre reported more than 500 wealth and asset management companies, up 22%. Insurance keeps growing: gross written premiums rose 14.9% to about AED 74.8 billion in 2025, according to Central Bank data. The client base is growing too, with Dubai's population reaching 4.58 million at the end of 2025. For a client, the first check is which regulator stands behind the adviser, and whether that licence covers what is being recommended.

  • The Capital Market Authority replaced the Securities and Commodities Authority on 1 January 2026.
  • The DFSA regulated 1,050 entities at the end of 2025, after licensing 182 new firms.
  • DIFC reported more than 500 wealth and asset management companies in 2025, up 22%.
  • UAE insurance gross written premiums rose 14.9% to about AED 74.8 billion in 2025.
  • The one-year transition under the new Central Bank law ended on 16 September 2026.
CMA, DFSA, FSRA or Central Bank

What an adviser may publish depends on who licenses it. Onshore investment advisers and promoters answer to the Capital Market Authority, the SCA's legal successor since 1 January 2026. The SCA's finfluencer rules, Resolution No. 10 of 2025, require anyone else giving financial recommendations online to register, while already-licensed consultants are excluded. In DIFC, any communication that invites someone to use a financial service is a financial promotion: DFSA rule GEN 3.5.1 requires it to be clear, fair and not misleading, to state the firm's name, address and regulatory status, and to carry a past-performance warning for retail clients. ADGM firms follow the FSRA's own rules. Insurers and brokers fall under the Central Bank, whose consumer protection rules prohibit misleading advertising.

Why listings stall

What keeps finance & insurance off page one

Still naming the SCA as your regulator

Since 1 January 2026 the onshore regulator has been the Capital Market Authority, the SCA's legal successor. Footers, disclosures, schema and adviser profiles that still say "regulated by the SCA" look out of date to a client checking a licence. Update the regulator's name and keep the licence number beside it.

Performance figures without the warning

Fund charts and posts such as "the portfolio returned 8% last year" aimed at retail clients need a balanced view and a prominent warning that past performance is not a reliable guide, under DFSA rule GEN 3.5.1. Onshore rules also forbid misleading presentation. Put the warning beside the figure, not in a footer.

Comparison pages that turn into recommendations

A page comparing savings plans or insurers moves from facts to a recommendation once it carries a "best plan for expats" heading and an enquiry button. In DIFC that is a financial promotion, and onshore it can amount to advice that needs a licence. Keep comparisons to published terms, approved by compliance.

Hiding which entity holds the licence

When an adviser trades under a brand while the licence sits with a group company, a site that never names that company leaves clients unable to check the register. For a DFSA-regulated firm, a promotion without its regulatory status also falls short of GEN 3.5.1. Name the licensed entity and its regulator on every page.

The competition

A bank, adviser groups, a forum and a list

For "financial advisor dubai", Google showed an AI Overview, then Emirates NBD's wealth page, four adviser firms with long guides or region pages, St. James's Place, a personal-brand adviser, a small planning firm, a Reddit thread and a "top 10" list. Long guides are the common thread: four results run from 2,500 to 7,300 words on choosing an adviser and what it costs. A newer firm will struggle against the bank on the head term. It can match the guides on narrower topics, state its regulator plainly, and win searches tied to its specialism, such as pension transfers or end-of-service savings.

Who ranks now

What the top ten results for “financial advisor dubai” do

Google UAE, checked 16 September 2026. There were no ads, but Google showed an AI Overview above the results. People also ask covered adviser fees, what advisers earn in Dubai, whether advice is worth paying for and investing AED 10,000.

  1. 1
    Emirates NBD Bank

The bank's wealth advisory page, about 7,300 words in English and Arabic: its approach, advisers, portfolio building, customer testimonials, tips on choosing an adviser, and FAQs.

A "financial adviser in Dubai" guide of about 5,200 words for expats and wealthy clients, covering planning steps, tax and trusts, with service and audience markup.

  3. 3
    Holborn Assets Advisory firm

A guide of about 2,900 words to choosing a Dubai adviser, including costs and UAE tax, marked up as an article, a financial service and FAQs.

  9. 9

A thread in which a user asks the r/dubai community for financial planner recommendations. The page builds in JavaScript, and our fetch could not read the replies.

  10. 10
    Bricks Consultancy Listicle

A "Top 10 Best Financial Advisors Dubai" blog post of about 1,700 words, on a site whose related posts are aimed at non-resident Indian investors.

Long guides outrank service pages

Emirates NBD, AES, Holborn and AIX rank pages of 2,500 to 7,300 words that explain how to choose an adviser, what advice costs and how planning differs from advice. With an AI Overview at the top and fee questions in People also ask, Google is treating this search as research before contact, not a request for a firm's contact page.

A bank, international groups and one-person brands share page one

A UAE bank and firms operating across several countries sit beside a single adviser's personal site and a 608-word page for a small planning firm. Mike Coady's site ranks with free guides, money tips and a booking link. Scale helps, but a clear specialism and useful material put smaller advisers on the same page.

A forum thread and a list answer the trust question

A Reddit thread asking residents for planner recommendations ranks ninth and a "top 10" list tenth. Searchers want someone other than the adviser to vouch for them. A firm cannot write its own recommendations in those places; what it can control is how easily a reader confirms its regulator, its licensed entity and how it is paid.

Where an independent adviser can win

Not by out-publishing a bank on "financial advisor dubai". The smaller firms in the ten rank with a clear specialism, practical guides and an easy way to book. Choose the client groups and life events you actually serve, answer the fee and "is it worth it" questions Google already shows, name your regulator and licensed entity on every page, and target narrower searches such as UK pension transfers.

Faster than most expect when the structure is right from day one. Kevin Crowther's rebuilt site, with 12 provider-review pages, ranks #1 for legacy planning services dubai. Organic clicks grew from 74 to 3,420 for mid-June to mid-September 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

Not when they compare published facts rather than recommend products. A page that sets out an insurer's charges, exclusions and policy terms from its own documents, without advising the reader to buy, is factual content. Kevin Crowther's site carries 12 such pages. Have your compliance officer review the template once, then apply it to each provider.

Yes. Google shows AI Overviews for many advice queries in the UAE, and residents ask ChatGPT about wills, gratuity and savings before contacting anyone. Pages that answer one question directly, with the regulator and licence visible, get cited. Kevin Crowther's site holds featured snippets for asset protection and legacy planning in the UAE.

Yes, the regulator's name should be updated everywhere. The Securities and Commodities Authority became the Capital Market Authority on 1 January 2026, and the CMA is its legal successor. Replace "regulated by the SCA" in footers, disclosures, schema and adviser profiles, keeping your licence number. Check PDFs and brochures as well, because Google indexes them and clients read them when comparing advisers.

Publish how you are paid, even if you cannot give exact figures. "What is the normal fee for a financial advisor?" is one of the questions Google shows for "financial advisor dubai". Explain whether you charge a fee, earn commission or both, what a typical engagement costs, and what a client pays inside any product. Clear disclosure also fits the regulators' requirement that information is not misleading.

Only openly, and never by posing as a client. A thread asking r/dubai for financial planner recommendations ranked ninth for "financial advisor dubai" in September 2026. Praising your own firm without saying who you are breaks Reddit's rules and misleads readers, and for a regulated firm it can count as a financial promotion.
