The situation, goals & challenges
The domain was not new, but nothing had ever been built on it. In September 2025 it held eighty-one ranking keywords, none in the top three, and drew a few hundred clicks across eight months.
The competition is UAE banking and wealth advisory, where institutions hold decade-old sites and unlimited budgets. Financial advice is also a your-money-or-your-life category, where Google discounts anything it cannot attribute to a credible, accountable author.
Challenges
- A dormant domain with no authority to spend in a YMYL money niche
- Competing against institutions with decade-old sites and unlimited budgets
- Google applying extra scrutiny to trust and authority signals in financial advice
- No existing content, entity or on-page framework to build from
SEO strategy for financial advisory
Financial advice is the hardest YMYL category in search: banks have decade-old domains and unlimited budgets. An independent advisor cannot outspend them, so the strategy was to out-answer them on the comparison questions they will never touch.
Entity first, on a domain with no history
A dormant domain in a YMYL money niche has no authority to spend. We established one unambiguous advisor identity — credentials, regulatory positioning, professional profiles — before publishing anything.
Informational volume, commercial intent
"Best bank in UAE" is commercial; "how to invest 10,000 AED" is not. Both were mapped deliberately, so the site meets the reader while they are still learning and again when they are ready to act.
Comparison content as the wedge
Rankings, reviews and "top 10" formats are where an independent advisor can outrank banks, because banks will never compare themselves honestly. That is the content that earned the AI citations.
Clusters, not one-off posts
Wealth management alone holds three page-one positions from a single pillar and its supporting articles, with internal links routing authority into the commercial pages.
Numbers that speak louder than claims

A separate measure from the AI Overview keyword count above: not how many keywords trigger an AI answer, but how many of the site's own pages the assistants quote as a source — 28 across four surfaces. The per-surface counts add up to more than the total, because a page quoted by two assistants is counted once in each.

How it unfolded
The verdict: strategic SEO transforms businesses
Domain age was never the problem here; nothing had ever been built on it. A precise entity, honest comparison content and correct markup put an independent advisor into the AI answers for queries the banks are still buying ads against.
